§ Research interests

The interest of the laboratory is to study the microbial pathogenesis from the angle of molecular genetics & biochemistry. Our current models are pathogenic fungus, Candida & Flavivirus. In addition to academic research, we would like ultilize the information obtained in our study for Biomedical field.

At the present, there are three major topics in the lab:

A. Molecular Pathogenesis:

We employ function genetics study to obtain microbial virulence genes in order to understand the pathogenic
       interaction between microbes & host cells. Model organisms: Candida albicans, Dengue virus.

B. Mechanism of drug-resistance:

                   The emergence of drug-resistant fungi has become an issue in clinical medicine. We study the gene regulation  
         of drug-resistance in Candida.

   C. Molecular Biology of flavivirus
